The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned a suspected hired assassin, Wasiu Akinwande, also known as "Olori Eso," on an 11-count charge, including murder, unlawful possession of arms, and felony ¹ ² ³. Akinwande, 44, was arrested in Agbado, Ogun State, during a coordinated tactical operation code-named "Silence, Speed, and Surprise" ¹ ² ³.
The police recovered a large cache of weapons and incriminating items from Akinwande's residence, including two AK-47 rifles, a K2 assault rifle, locally made pistols, live ammunition, cartridges, walkie-talkies, and a poisonous dagger ¹ ² ⁴. Akinwande allegedly admitted to using these weapons in his operations alongside other gang members.
The charges against Akinwande include the alleged murders of Bankole Yusuf and Ramadan Yusuf on July 31, 2024, during a clash in the Mushin area ¹ ² ³. He is also accused of killing 10-year-old Aminat Lateef in December 2010 while she was running an errand in Fadeyi ¹ ² ³. Additionally, Akinwande is charged with attempting to kill 58-year-old Awawu Ajalara in February 2011
