Musk, along with other tech leaders, has voiced opposition to the bill recently. However, his latest remarks represent a significant escalation and received immediate support from several fiscal conservatives on Capitol Hill.

In response to Representative Massie, who opposed the bill during its recent House vote, Musk emphasized that it was "simple math."

As the largest donor in the 2024 campaign, Musk contributed $288 million, although he has hinted at reducing his political donations in the future.
