President Bola Tinubu has authorized the full disbursement of allowances and match bonuses for the Super Falcons ahead of their final match against Morocco in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, announced this development during a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.
He confirmed that all entitlements, including those for the upcoming match on July 26, have been released for immediate payment to players, coaches, and officials.
Dikko characterized this action as “policy in motion,” reflecting a renewed dedication to Nigerian athletes under Tinubu’s administration.
He emphasized that timely payments would now be a standard practice, eliminating any drama or delays.
Additionally, Dikko noted that this initiative also applies to Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, who are preparing for their 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket campaign in Côte d'Ivoire, indicating that D’Tigress will receive enhanced allowances and bonuses.
“This is the type of sports administration we aspire to create—one based on dignity, trust, and shared success. Future generations will recognize President Tinubu’s reforms in the sports sector,” he stated.
