Police officer, accomplices arrested for abducting, extorting and robbing residents in Edo

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a police officer, Inspector Ojo Oloruntobi, and his three civilian accomplices, identified as:

The suspects were apprehended on August 15, 2025, while operating in a silver Toyota Yaris. According to the police, they had been terrorizing residents of Benin City through acts of extortion, brutality, and robbery. The arrest followed a viral video where a victim alleged he was abducted by policemen, stripped of his phone and valuables, and subjected to harassment and intimidation.
